Since I haven't purchased a macro lens yet, and instead have relied on telephoto lenses with diopters and extensions, getting a detailed shot up close is a serious challenge.  That is why I like it so much I suppose.  If you look at the macro photos I was taking a month ago, and compare them with recent ones you will notice I am getting closer and closer to the subject, while preserving detail.  This is thanks to the diopters and extensions I purchased, but with this new equipment I have encountered that I have a whole new set of challenges.  One of which is the subject is always moving and rarely sits still long enough for me to set up a tri

Not too long ago a few friends recommended I upload my artwork to deviantart, although I thought it wasn't good enough yet, and I needed more practice.  When I finally took a chance, and began uploading some pieces I found a warm reception and didn't get the criticism I expected.  Now I have 50 deviations submitted, and feel before too long I will be at 100.  Thanks for the support!

As you can see from my posts recently, macro photography has really attracted me.  Looking into the microcosm all around us is very interesting and educational.  Ever since I was a child I turned over rocks and logs to see what was hidden beneath.  I am sure many insects, and even a few snakes, thought it was annoying, but for some reason I had to know what was hidden around me.  When I got older I turned over fewer rocks, and became more disconnected from the microcosm.  I moved deeper into the city, and visited nature less, and less.
